George Andervich

George E. Andervich, 94, of Rich Hill, MO passed away July 21, 2017. George was born July 4, 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas to Croatian immigrants Anthony and Helen (Mohart) Andervich.

George served his country in the Navy during WWII. He was a kind, loving, gentle soul that would give you the shirt off his back to help a person out. He loved his family, kids and time spent with his friends. George also had an unwavering faith in God. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. George was a true country boy who never drew weary of a hard day’s work on the farm. He loved being outdoors enjoying all of God’s creation.

George is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene Andervich; 4 brothers, Tony, Frank, John and Steve; 5 sisters, Mary, Helen, Ann, Catherine and Charlotte.

Those left to cherish his memory include daughter, Cathy (Leroy) Gray; 2 grandchildren, Christy (Luke) Henry, Tony Ray; 2 great-grandchildren, Andreja and Eli; as well as his 4 step-children and their families he loved as his own, Don (Cathy) Bolander; Joe (Cathi) Bolander, Charlotte (Terry) Mertens, Carolyn (Mike) Ruiz and 8 grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 6-8 PM with services at 10 AM, Wed. July 26, 2017 at Gashland Baptist Church, 601 NE Barry Rd, Kansas City, MO 64155. Burial with military honors to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Gashland Baptist Church.
