December 6, 1927 — September 24, 2016

CATHERINE “KITTY” WILBER
Catherine “Kitty” Wilber, 88, of Ft. Collins, CO formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away September 24, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born December 6, 1927 in Dothan, Alabama to the late James Harvey and Willie Mae (Vann) Johnson.
Kitty was a very strong, sweet southern woman. She was an amazing woman who was dedicated to God, family and friends. In her early years her values never wavered. This was very apparent in the way that she lived. She was a devoted daughter whom loved and took care of her mother and siblings from a very young age. This allowed her to be the wonderful wife that she was, as well as an extremely dedicated mother to her own children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kitty’s spirit and drive touched so many people throughout her long life. She was a great friend to so many. And never strayed from the values that she instilled in her family. She was honest to a fault and had amazing character and strength.
After raising her own family, Kitty went back to school, completed her GED and obtained an associate’s degree; an accomplishment of which she was extremely proud. She then entered the workforce and retired as an administrative assistant at KC Plastics. Her hobbies included church, volunteering, gardening and painting.
Kitty was a strong woman with an unmatched sense of humor. She had a sweet southern drawl and was a charming lady but meant business. Faith, love and honesty are what she lived by. Integrity and character where what she strived to instill. An all-around proud southern woman who was independent and strong and would do anything for anyone; this is who Kitty was.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 16 years, Ed Wilber; sisters, Ruth Story and Millie Kirkland; brother, Johnny Johnson and son, Robert Wilber.
Those left to cherish Kitty’s memory include her daughter, Karen (Todd Bright) Price; son, Larry (Julie) Wilber; granddaughter, Angie (Jim) Sampson; grandsons, Chase Albright, Matthew (Carol) Wilber, Michael Wilber; great-grandchildren, Olivia Catherine Hauser, Julianna Wilber, Jayden Wilber, Addison Wilber and Morgan Wilber.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 11 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street (169 HWY and Shoal Creek Pkwy) Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be left at TerraceParkFH.com.
