Florence M. Calvert, 79 of Gladstone died at Golden Living in Smithville, on Friday, January 9, 2015. She was born March 31, 1935 in Bolivar, MO.
She was a life-long florist, owning her own shop and working in many others over the years. She was a member of the Smithville United Methodist Church, Smithville UMC Women’s group, Adventures camping association, Allegro Motor Home Association, and Good Sam’s Camping Group,
Florence is survived by her husband Leland, whom she married March 10, 1979; they had 2 children; a son Randall Stewart and Sherrie Baker. Two grandchildren Matt (Jenny) Sharp and Melissa Sharp, and three great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Maddyson and Allyson; also surviving are other extended family members Ed & Shirley Brockmyer, Donald & Tammy Garrison, Bill & Carol Peden and Thomas and Debora Kerr.
Visitation will be Monday, January 12, 2015, from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM, with Pastor Kathy Harmon officiating, at United Methodist Church of Smithville 505 N Hwy 169, Smithville, MO 64089. Interment will follow at Terrace Park Funeral Cemetery (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek); In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions in Florence’s memory be made to the church.
