Frankie Spinden

Frankie Larue Spinden, 90, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home Friday, May 12, 2017.  Frankie was born on February 3, 1927, to Roscoe and Annie Belle (Scarborough) Sanders, in Electra, TX. She married Paul Oliver Spinden, June 21, 1944, in Electra. Her love of music started when she was three years old. She carried her passion throughout her life, teaching piano and music from home. As a minister’s wife, she and her husband pastored Assemblies of God Churches in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma. The three loves of her life were her church, her family, and her music.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband of 69 years, three sisters; Opal Willis, Arveda Roye, Louise Caughman, and one brother John Sanders.

She is survived by her two sons, Judge Paul (Sara) Spinden, of Lynchburg, VA and Reverend Franklin (B.Cheryl) Spinden, of Miami, OK. Also surviving are two grandchildren; David (Emily) Spinden of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Alison (David) Harris of Kansas City, MO, four great grandchildren; Micah and Caleb Spinden, and Benjamin and Peter Harris, two sisters Lavada Ferguson of Olympia, WA and Ruby Nell Lake of San Bernardino, CA, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, may 16, 2017 from 12:00 PM with Funeral Services immediately following at 1:00 PM at Northland Cathedral; 101 NW 99th St, Kansas City, MO 64155.  Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions go to Northland Cathedral. Share online condolences at TerraceParkFuneral.com.
