John "Dennis" McTaggart

John Dennis McTaggart, 81, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away at his home, Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Dennis was born February 23, 1936, to John and Mable (Hasting) McTaggart, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph, in 1954. He married Vernelle Markt on April 18, 1956, in St. Joseph, Missouri, and moved Kansas City in 1972, where he has lived since. He  was an active member and Elder in the NW Bible Church in Kansas City. He loved the time spent with his four girls and their families. He also enjoyed golfing, even during the winter months. Dennis was also a member of the Missouri Air National Guard.  After he retired from Snowden-Mize, he enjoyed spending time fishing with the grandchildren, and working in his yard.

John was preceded in death by both parents and his wife of 43 years.
He survived by his four daughters; Cathy (Allan)Wilson, of Kansas City, MO, Jane (Ken) Gardner, of Shawnee, Kansas, Jennifer (Andy) Lauchlan, of Orlando, FL, and Sally (Greg) Hutzell, of Dacula, GA. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, and 10¾ great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 10:00 – 12:00 AM with Funeral Services immediately following at 12:00 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions go to NW Bible Church. Share online condolences at TerraceParkFuneral.com.
