Orlene Marshall

July 22, 1920 — December 17, 2014

Orlene C. Marshall, 94 of Blue Springs, died at Golden Living Care Center/ New Haven, in Odessa, MO on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.  She was born in New Market Iowa on July 22, 1920 to the late George Combs and Sarah Eliza “Lida” Lathrop Combs.

Orlene moved around the country a lot and enjoyed traveling the world visiting family and finding adventure. She was always involved in the community including volunteering at St. Mary’s Hospital, she was a member of the Red Hat Society, while in Sweet Adelines she was a volunteer usher at various events and very dedicated to her church and church family.

She was the loving mother of Donna (the late Bernie) Toombs, Karen (Jim) Hays, the late Francis Allan Marshall, Michael (the Late Sharon) Marshall and Janice (Rod) Spicer, she was the cherished grandmother of 9, great grandmother of 23; “Auntie O” to numerous nieces & nephews, she is a dear cousin and friend to many.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Francis E. Marshall, 2 brothers and 6 sisters.

The family wants to acknowledge and thank Omega Hospice and AseraCare Hospice for the years of care and support provided to the entire family.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 21, 2014 at First Christian Church of Blue Springs 701 NW 15th Street from 1 PM until time of service at 2 PM with Pastors Cliff Caton and Bill Rosser officiating.  Private interment will be Monday, Terrace Park Cemetery.
