Raymond Paeth

December 2, 1928 — November 27, 2014

Raymond G. Paeth, 85 of Belton, MO, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Kansas City Hospice House.  He was born in Whitehall, Michigan to the late George Carl John and Lucile Rebecca (Allen) Paeth on December 2, 1928.

Ray married Eleanor Helen Sanderson in 1951 in Angola, Indiana, and raised five children. Ray was in the Army Air Corp during WWII and the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars.  He enjoyed being in the military and served his country proudly for 30 years retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant (MSGT).  Prior to the military, he worked for Edison Company and as a staff photographer for a Michigan paper.  In Ray’s early years, he enjoyed photography, flying small private planes and riding his motorcycle.  After he retired from the military, he loved to travel and listen to all types of music. He was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan.

He was the loving father of Jacalyn (Scott) Ferrell, Janice (Christopher) Hartmann,  Jeanne  (Guy) Rolls, R. John (Barbara) Paeth, and James K. Paeth. Cherished grandfather of 10; and 6 great-grandchildren,  Dear brother of Maxine (William) White, Shirley (Louis) Dykema, and other siblings.  He was a dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. In addition to his parents, Raymond is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor who died in 2008. Sister, Marilyn Langolf.  The family would like to acknowledge and thank the caring staff of caregivers at Kansas City Hospice and the staff and residents at Carnegie Village Senior Living, where he lived the past 10 years.

Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has arranged a memorial service with military honors Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 2 PM at Carnegie Village Senior Living 103 Bernard Drive in Belton, MO.  A time of Fellowship will follow the service. Ray’s final resting place will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in Ray’s memory may be made to any veteran’s charity or Kansas City Hospice House 12000 Wornall Rd. Kansas City, MO 64145.
