Sharon Marie (Whipple)Timme, age 75 of Pittsburg, Missouri died May 16, 2017 at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City. Sharon was born in Seattle Washington on December 7, 1941. Sharon lived in Kansas City, Missouri until 2001, when she moved to Pittsburg, Missouri, where she lived until her death.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Lester E. Beaty and Marguerite W. Beaty and her dear husband, Jesse (Jake) Whipple. In later years, Sharon married Donald Timme in Branson, Missouri and moved to Pittsburg, Missouri. She was happily married to him until his death in 2015.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ronda Brazil (John Brazil) and Debbie Carter (Herbert Carter). Her grandchildren were her pride and joy; Brandon Whipple, Gabriel Brazil, Patrick Brazil, Jesse Carter and Amber Porter. She was also a great grandmother including the youngest addition of a baby boy who was born in the last few weeks and whom Sharon was able to greet.
Sharon was step mother to Don’s children, Linda Frizzell (Jim), CJ Mohen (Tom) and Darrell Timme (Judy). She was the proud grandmother of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sharon was one of six siblings. She is survived by three brothers, Eugene Beaty (Sharon Kay), Lester Dewayne Beaty and James Beaty (Connie), as well as two sisters, Jodell Ward and Marguerite Busby (Clyde). She was very fond of her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as a host of dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sharon graduated from Park Hill High School and married Jake on July 16, 1960. She joined a large Whipple family and enjoyed many wonderful times with the extended family.
Sharon worked many years for Farmland Industries in North Kansas City. After she retired there she spent time between Kansas City and the lake. Since retiring Sharon enjoyed gardening, shopping and traveling. One of her recent travels included a trip to South Carolina to witness her grandson’s wedding in Charleston.
She loved listening to country music and attending Southern Gospel Music concerts, often attending with her brother Wayne. She particularly enjoyed the Pressley’s show in Branson, Missouri and was a season ticket holder last year. She loved nature and taking walks with her walking buddies and Sally, her beloved Australian Shepherd. She also enjoyed monthly bunco club parties with her neighborhood friends and attending car races and rodeos. Sharon was a life long fan of the Kansas City Royals.
Sharon loved her church and was a faithful member of Pittsburg Christian Church. If you knew Sharon, you knew her personal testimony of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. In many moments during the significant last month of her life, she shared her unwavering faith with many family members and friends. It was her greatest desire that all her loved ones would have a personal relationship with Jesus and be reunited in heaven one day.
Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 20 at Terrace Park Funeral Home with the service following at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Terrace Park, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sharon Timme to Louisburg Christian Church, 301 State Hwy 64, Louisburg, MO 65685 or to NorthCare Hospice House, 2800 Clay Edwards Dr, NKC, MO 64116. The Family wishes to thank North Kansas City Hospital and NorthCare Hospice House workers for their professional, compassionate and tender care during the last weeks of Sharon’s life. We also wish to thank the friends and neighbors (Ellen, Debbie, Wayne & Alberta) for the kindness shown in taking care of Sharon’s country place in her absence.
