Virginia Sorenson

October 17, 1971 — September 30, 2014

Virginia Dare Sorenson (also known as Sissy to her family & Gigi to many of her friends) of Overland Park, KS was born on Oct. 17, 1971 in North Kansas City, MO. And passed from this life on Sept. 30, 2014.  She was preceded in death, 16 days prior, by her husband, LeRoy Sorenson.  Also preceded by her father, Paul E Dare, Sr. and her mother, Mattie Mae Smith Dare.

She was survived by her brother: Paul Dare, Jr of Kansas City, MO. brother: James T. Dare & wife Brandy Dare of Independence, MO. Also survived by nieces: Angel Dare of Springfield, MO, Danielle Dare & Autumn Dare of Independence, MO.,  by nephews:  James P Dare, Ricky York & Ryan York of Independence, MO. 2 great nieces, Elliana and Addilyn Matthews of Springfield, MO.  And by her furry  four legged babies, Azoya, Max, Paris & Sarg.  These were LeRoy & Gigi's pride & joy and they called them, "The Kids". Sissy loved these dogs & cared for them as any good mother would care for her children. She loved to talk to them & about them. Never tired of little stories about all they learned & she loved to play with them. Her last outing was to take them to the doggie park to try to help them cope with the loss of their daddy. She wanted them well groomed & happy all the time. And they grieve & mourn her passing & that of LeRoy.

Sissy was a unique individual. A self-proclaimed "Daddy's girl."   She was a lovely, intelligent woman full of spunk & hope for a better tomorrow.  She had been ill for quite a long time, but she never gave up the hope of tomorrow being a better life. She never stepped out of her house without every hair in the best style for her. She was a very fashionable lady who enjoyed fixing herself up & looking the best that she could every time she went out with LeRoy or even shopping with a friend!  She took great care to present herself well all the time.  She talked of her love for LeRoy & how he had come into her life, just in time, to rescue her from a very lonely, painful life.  She felt their love story was the best ever written.

She received Jesus as her savior recently. And she & her forever love (as she called LeRoy) are indeed forever together now, rejoicing with their loved ones gone on before & waiting for those that will come to meet them in days to come.
