Vitalia Hadley

December 26, 1934 — May 29, 2015

Vitalia Esther Hadley, 80 of Kansas City, died at her home on Friday, May 29, 2015.

Esther was born December 26, 1934 in Cartagena, Cuba to the late Brigido and Luisa Blanco and grew up on a farm. She moved to Havana as a teen where she worked as a domestic; later joining the Anti-Castro movement. When she arrived in the U.S. in October 1962 her first job was at Valentino’s Restaurant—the Valentino’s became like family to her.  She was often admired for her dedicated work ethic, excellent house cleaning and her care and concern for family and others. In 1980, she was able to return for a visit to Cuba with her husband and family.  Esther and her husband James “Jim” Hadley were married for more than 50 years; she was a great wife, mother, grandmother and cook. Over the years they worked together and owned restaurants and other businesses.  Esther is survived by her husband Jim, 2 children Jacqueline Hadley and Michael (Shari Rapposelli) Hadley; her grandchildren Zoie Rosolek and Mike Hadley.   Esther was a dear sister, sister-in-law, cousin, aunt and friend to many.

Funeral service will be Friday at 2 PM with visitation beginning at 1 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO.
