WALTER H. EYLAR
Dr. Walter H. Eylar passed away Saturday, May 2. Walt was born August 24, 1927. After serving 2 years in the Air Force, Walt graduated from UMKC Dental School in 1954. He began his dental career in Wakeeney, KS, then moved his practice to Gladstone, MO in 1957. In his retirement, he volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital, and the Nearly New Shop. He also served as a member on various boards in the community. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. He was an avid automobile traveler. He loved taking car trips, but never on the highways. Always on the unpaved back roads, where he met the most interesting people and could never pass up an “antique shop.” Walt is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Delores. He is survived by his children, Cynthia Stanley (Jim) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Julia Reavis (Jim) of Humble, TX, and Curtis Eylar (Sue) of Smithville, MO. Grandchildren Erin, Patrick (Athena), Lauren, and Ashley. Great grandson, Wyatt. Half-sister Ann Drake (Collins) and half-brother, John Eylar, Jr.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 6, 2015 beginning at 10 AM at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1441 NE Englewood Rd, Kansas City, MO 64118 with memorial services following at 11 AM at the church.
