Alta Peterson

Alta Ferne Peterson was born Alta Ferne Simpson, on April 13, 1920 in Urich Missouri and died on Aug 23, 2018.

Ferne had 3 brothers and 2 sisters.  All deceased.

Ferne is survived her husband, James Peterson, by a daughter, Becky May and her husband Donald a son John Drinkert and his wife Elizabeth.   Six grandchildren, Jeff,  Ryan and Kelsie Drinkert, Lisa Galvan, Kim Gibson and Denise Gilliland.  Two great grandchildren, Amber Sifuentes and Austin Reiman, two

Ferne was a beautician in the 1940’s through the 1970’s.  She married Jim Peterson in 1978 and has lived in the Platte Woods area for the last 40 years.

Ferne loved having family around her as much as possible.  She planned family dinners until she was in her 90’s.

Ferne learned the truth in 1953, after studying the Bible for 3 months she and her children attended the 1953 international convention at Yankee Stadium in New York and stayed in tent city for the entire convention.  Two months later she and her daughter were baptized by Brother Huey in a creek on his farm in southern Missouri.  She began preaching and never stopped.  Even in her 90’s she was concerned about getting back to “her calls”.  Ferne had a strong faith and shared it at every opportunity.  She loved the thought of everlasting life on the earth.  We look forward to welcoming her back in the resurrection.
