Anita Nance

September 21, 1948 — July 27, 2018

Anita Kay Nance, daughter of the late Herbert & Zellma (Cox) Handke, was born on September 21, 1948 in Atchison, Kansas and departed this life on July 27, 2018 in North Kansas City, Missouri.

Anita devoted her life to developing and caring for younger children. She was known as the children’s caregiver because she always went above and beyond what was expected of a regular babysitter. She also loved caring for and adopting new animals. She had various different types of pets such as, birds, cats, squirrels, chickens and dogs. She loved spending time with her family but especially cherished every moment spent with her granddaughter, Genesis.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Nance; one daughter, Michelle; four sisters, Marian Stariwat, Sandra Sanders, Carol Mayes and Angie Wilson; one sister-in-law, Teri Andrick; and one granddaughter, Genesis. She also leaves behind many friends whom will all truly miss her.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 10-11 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church  2003 NE Englewood Rd, Kansas City, MO 64118, Where the Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.   Interment in Terrace Park Cemetery.
