Claude Elwood Carver, 92, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018, at St Luke’s North Hospital-Barry Rd. Claude was born March 21, 1925, to Claude and Annabell (Gentry) Carver, in Miami, Missouri. Claude was active in school sports and was a member of the Slater High School’s undefeated Missouri Valley Conference Champions in 1942. He joined the Navy right out of high school, in 1943, during WWII. On October 1, 1949 he married Betty Ann Vaughn. The couple had one son, Steven, who was their pride and joy. After getting out of the Navy, he started working for General Motors, and retired from the company in 1980. During his free time Pakka enjoyed golfing with his grandson, and flying with his son. “Pakka” loved taking roads trips with the grandkids. An accomplishment in life that many do not get to achieve, he was privileged to attend both a Super bowl and a World Series. He was an avid Chiefs fan, and will always be remembered as the best father-in-law ever.

He is preceded in death by both parents, his wife of 45years, and two brothers; Wrayburn and Robert Carver.

He is survived by his son Chris (Angela) Carver of Kansas City, MO, grandchildren; Kelli Carver of Kansas City, MO and Brent (Erin) Carver also of Kansas City, MO, one great grandchild Clara Carver, and many nieces and nephews.
