Donita “Nita” May Blacksher, daughter of the late Rexford & Cleo (Lee) Pruitt, was born on September 7, 1952 and departed this life on June 28, 2019. At the time of her passing she was 66 years of age.

Donita was born and raised in the Kansas City area. She attended Oak Park High School and was a member of the 1970 graduating class. Shortly after graduation, she was united in marriage to Randall Blacksher and to this union three children were born. She worked for Glenwood Baptist Temple as a secretary for 16 years. She was known in the neighborhood as “Momma” and everyone viewed her as their own mother. She was very caring and truly enjoyed every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending her time sewing, scrapbooking, shopping and adding a little coffee to her creamer.

She was preceded in passing by her loving husband of 38 years, Randall Blacksher; and her parents. She is survived by her three daughters, Dawn (Nick) Reppond, Heather (Clyde) Alderman and Christie Blacksher; two brothers, Dwaine Pruitt and Jerry (Kathy) Pruitt; seven grandchildren, Tristan, Kayden, Mia, Zoe, Addyson, Mac and Kylen. She also leaves behind several friends and other family members who will all truly miss her.
