Eidola Ann “Dodie” Whipple (Parsons)

On the thirtieth of October, 2018 Dodie was welcomed into heaven by her son, David, after 82 years on earth. Dodie was born on April 17th, 1936, in Elkhorn, WI to parents Eugene T. Parsons and Evelyn F. Wright.

She was raised in Delevan and was a student at University of Wisconsin Whitewater. Dodie met Wally on a blind date in the spring of 1955. On August 11th, 1956 she proudly became Mrs. Wallace R Whipple. The Whipple family welcomed two beloved children while residing in Iowa (Cedar Rapids & Shenandoah) before settling in Kansas City, Missouri. When Metro North Mall opened Dodie took a job at JCPenney and was a dedicated member of the team until she retired after 26 years. Dodie was a lover of decorations, greeting cards, wrapping gifts, Susan Lucci & all deserts! She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church, and in lieu of flowers wishes that donations be made to Englewood.

In addition to her parents, Dodie is preceded in death by her son David, Cousin Rosie, Brother-in-law Larry & many friends.

Those left to cherish her memory Include her Husband Wally, Sister Ethel, Sister Evonne (Ron), Brother Eugene (Sharon), Daughter Joanna (Greg), Granddaughter Stephanie (Britton), Daughter-in-law Mary, Granddaughter Katrinka (Rusty), Granddaughter Megan (Ike), Grandson Mitchell (Brittany), Granddaughter Rebecca (Ryan), Grandson David, Granddaughter Veronica, 7 Great-Granddaughters and a Great-Grandson on the way.

Her family invites you to celebrate Dodie’s life at Englewood Baptist Church on Saturday November 3, 2018 at 2pm.
