Elaine Diane Hollingsworth, 68, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, in North Care Hospice, North Kansas City, MO. Elaine was born December 3, 1948, to Rex and Ruth (Nickerson) Robbins in Kansas City, MO. Elaine graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1967. On August 30, 1969 she married Rick Hollingsworth. The couple loved to travel with their two children and visited many states. She went on to become a teacher after graduating from Missouri Western and later helped start the Parents as Teachers Program, and continued with the program until she retired. In her free time she loved spending time with her family. She was the life of the party no matter where the party was at. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and always made her smile. Her fur babies, Bubba and Coco Michelle were also a big part of her life.

She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband of 32 years, and her granddaughter, Emily Richardson (2003).

She is survived by her two children; Jana (David) Herbert of Kansas City, MO, son Brian Hollingsworth, Olathe, KS, three grandchildren; Jordan, Sydney, and Trenton Richardson, two sisters; Elizabeth (Everett) Easley, of Arlington, TX and Elise (Kevin) Fisher, of Liberty, MO, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Funeral Services on Wednesday, June 21, 2017  at 10 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions go to North Care Hospice. Share online condolences at TerraceParkFuneral.com.
