Eleanor Johnson

Eleanor Virginia Johnson, 89, of Smithville, MO passed away on September 10, 2018.

Eleanor was born on Groundhogs Day, February 2, 1929, in Manhattan, NY to John and Viola Nelson. She married the love of her life, James “Jimmy” Johnson, on November 15, 1958 and had two wonderful children, Carolyn and Jonathan. She was homemaker, but spent much of her time volunteering at her church and other Bible affiliations. She had many hobbies and pastimes, but she especially enjoyed reading, at one point reading over 300 books within two years, and playing card games, especially Rummy 500.

She is survived by her husband, James Johnson; children Carolyn Johnson Koby and Jonathan P. Johnson; grandchildren, Jedidiah Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Matthew Fritz, Michele Fritz Hinks; great grandchildren, Logan Hinks and Levi Hinks; and her beloved dog Sadie.

A visitation is scheduled from 9am-10:30am on Friday, September 14th at Northland Cathedral, with a funeral at 10:30am, with burial to follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Northland Cathedral.
