Irene Brown

Irene Helen Brown, 91, of Liberty, Missouri passed away on May 19, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born on October 11, 1927 to Joseph and Magdalena DeSchepper in Lansing, Michigan.

They moved to Missouri when she was very young and has lived ever since. When she was just seventeen she married the love of her life, Norman Brown, and they had four children. She worked in the meat department at Bob’s IGA and Price Chopper for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1990.  Irene was a member of the Gashland Baptist Church and spent 18 years attending aquatics classes at the YMCA. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for having a new joke every time she and her friends got together to play cards.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 57 years, Norman.

Her vibrant personality will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Patricia (Michael) Dillahunty, Leann Kahoe, Ron (Norma Jean) Brown, and Barbara (Joe) Scheetz; grandchildren, Matthew Dillahunty, Brad (Jennifer) Dillahunty, Patrick (Amanda) Tierney, Joe (Amanda) Tierney, Kent Brown, Ross Brown, and Jennifer (Nick) Copelin; 14 great grandchildren and brother, August DeSchepper.

In honor of her always being very punctual, visitation will begin right at 5:00pm and go until 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 22nd, with the funeral service will be Thursday, May 23rd at 10:00am sharp, both at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Burial immediately following.

Because we are celebrating the life and legacy of Irene, this will be a very relaxed service so the family ask that you come as your are and to enjoy each other’s company.
