Jerry Devaney

Jerry Michael Devaney, 74,  of Kansas City, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Lindenwoods Village. Jerry was born January 28, 1943 to John and Dorothy (Ross) Devaney, in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Hogan High in Kansas City in 1959, and on December 8, 1960 he joined the Army. He also served several years in the Army Reserves. On June 19, 1971 Jerry married the Jaunita Meyer the love of his life. The couple enjoyed traveling and seeing the sights together.  Jerry enjoyed his 80’s music and reading books from his huge book collection. On occasion he enjoyed betting on the ponies. During his free time he loved watching the Three Stooges, the Simpsons and Laurel and Hardy, and any show about the military. Jerry will always be remembered as a true patriot and member of the NRA. He also loved spending time with the grandchildren, whether it was reading books to them or playing games.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father and his wife of 32 years.

He is survived by his mother, a daughter Charlene and husband Will Craig of Kansas City, MO, and a son Scott Devaney of Revere ,MA, grandchildren; Cory, Kyle, Leah, Meadow, and Danica, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, November 13, 2017 from 3 to 7 PM with Mass Services on Tuesday  at 10 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow in Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions go to Beverly School of the Deaf or Autism Speaks.
