JoAnn Bernier

October 28, 1929 — June 19, 2017

JoAnn Bernier, 87, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017. She was born in Trenton, MO, on October 28, 1929 to the late Sublett and Grace (Ream) Crawford.

She was the last surviving child of 10; raised on a farm in Trenton, MO, she learned the value of hard work and love for family.  Faith, family and friends were paramount in JoAnn’s life. She had a gentle demeanor and was dependable in all situations. She enjoyed bowling, was an active member of Northland Baptist Church and a former secretary with Chemagro and Mobay chemical companies now known as Bayer.

She is survived by her daughters Debby (David) Nelson and Becky (Dave) Seitter, stepchildren: Linda (Beto) Soto, Lex (Cindy) Bernier, Donna Johnson and David (Barbara) Bernier. Grandchildren: Corey, Joe, Sandy, Taylor, Shelby, Ginny, Jamie, Elizabeth, Alex and Dylan. Great grandchildren: Zoey, Isabel, Gabriel, Silas, Malachi, Gideon, and Dominic and her beloved cat Fletcher.

In addition to her parents, JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband Frank Bernier, 9 siblings: Vernon, Dale, Jewell, Donald, Wayne, Eugene, Dorothy, Bill, and Dick; and her stepson-in-law David Johnson.

Visitation will be Friday, June 23, 2017, from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Interment will follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Northland Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
