John Powell

John Mordecas Powell, son of the late Modecas and Jane (Fernsler) Powell  was born on September 1, 1932 and departed this life on June 25, 2019. At the time of his passing he was 86 years of age.

Shortly after his High School Graduation, he joined the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for 4 years. After returning home from the Navy, he spent the majority of his working career as a Truck Driver. He was a devoted member of the Landmark Baptist Church in Smithville, Missouri.

John (Papa) was preceded in passing by his loving wife of 42 years, JoAnn Powell (Granny).

John leaves behind several loving friends and family members who will all truly miss him.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Terrace Park Lakeside Funeral Chapel, 801 N.W. 108th St, Kansas City, MO 64155, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 9 AM at Second Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made out to the charity of your choice.
