Mary Lou (Miller) Howard, age 88, passed away on March 4, 2019 in St. Louis, MO.

Mary Lou was born on June 18, 1930 in Kansas City, MO to Samuel Miller and Margaret Molini. She worked tirelessly beginning at the young age of 13, enjoyed gardening and loved her family and dogs immensely. As a young woman, Mary Lou danced the jitterbug every chance she had, and as an adult, after retiring from The Jones Store, she spent time making people smile and giving back as a member of the Northland Clown Guild, as a volunteer at North Kansas City Hospital, The Vineyard Church, as a lunch-buddy at Nashua Elementary School and had a second career as a school crossing guard.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Richard “Dick” Howard; her brother, Samuel Miller Jr.; half-brother, John Miller; and her beloved dogs, George, Gracie, Gretchen and December.

Mary Lou is lovingly remembered for her wit, perseverance, laughter and strong work ethic. She will be greatly missed by her children: Theresa Brooks, Cheryl (Michael) LoPiccolo, and Michael Howard; grandchildren, Shawna Brooks, Stacie Brooks, Scott Brooks, Sarah (James) Cowart, Adam Howard; great-grandchildren, Keith Brooks, Levi Brooks, Caleb Brooks, and many, many friends.

A memorial service and celebration of Mary Lou’s life will be held at Terrace Park Cemetery – at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Lakeside Chapel, with visitation beginning one hour prior and burial to follow.
