Nancy Orr

Nancy Lavaughn Orr, daughter of the late Jesse & Carrie (Duncanson) Carleton, was born on November 27, 1938 and departed this life to be with her lord and savior on March 1, 2019. At the time of her passing she was 80 years of age.

Nancy was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended Manual High School, where she met the love of her life, Charles Orr. On November 16, 1957 they were united in marriage while he was home on leave from the United States Marine Corps.  While Charles served our country as a marine, Nancy worked as a server for Forum Cafeteria. Together they had four children and while Charles was at work, she stayed home to raise her family. Over her lifetime she was a member of Glennwood Baptist Church, Antioch Bible Baptist Church and more recently Mt. Olivet Christian Church. She had many hobbies which included puzzles, sewing, reading and playing card games. She was an excellent cook and no matter how detailed her written recipes were, nobody could add the extra touch of love like she did to recreate her meals. Above all she loved her family, she loved spending time with her grandkids and while she was able, never missed one of their sporting events.

Nancy was preceded in passing by her parents; one son, Craig; and nine siblings. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Charles Orr; three children Wade (Laurie) Orr, Pam (Craig) Shiflett and Tad (Tammy) Orr; daughter-in-law, Angie Orr; nine grandchildren, Josh Orr, Jennifer Doll, Joe Orr, Rachelle, Shiflett, Cheri Fales, Justin Orr, Kristen Orr, Ryan Orr and Morgan Orr; and five great-grandchildren, Nathan Doll, Leah Doll, Stephen Howard, Parker Orr, Sawyer Fales and one more on the way. She also leaves behind several friends and other family members who will all truly miss her.
