Thomas Cain

Thomas "Tom" Edward Cain, 68, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away on November 15, 2019.

Tom was born on June 15, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri to Thomas and Frieda Cain. He grew up in Gladstone, Missouri and graduated from Oak Park High School. He attended Maryville University and Rockhurst College. In his early years he worked for Sutherland Lumber and H&R Block. He spent some time working as a deacon at Linden Baptist Church. For 25 years, he owned and operated a computer programming busniess, T. E. C. and Associates and then continued working as an IT specialist for Wheatbelt until he retired in 2016. Over the years Tom enjoyed bowling in leagues at Gladstone Bowl, especially in the Rocket League. He also loved playing in several pool leagues throughout the city, where he made many good friends.

Tom is preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Cain. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his mother, Freida Cain; wife, Janice; children, Tara (John), Mindi (Andy) and Tommy (Krystin); brother, Mike (Pam) Cain; sister, Patty (David) Kingsolver; grandchildren, Jonathan, Brandon, Ashlyn and  Madi Gonzales, Thomas, Rileigh, Ava and Olivia Cain, and Bretton, Slaiden and Kynlee Long.

Services will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, with the visitation on Tuesday, November 19th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and funeral on Wednesday, November 20th at 10:00am, followed by burial. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contribution be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Unleashed Pet Rescue.
