Anna Kent

Anna Louise Kent, 71 of Gladstone, MO passed away Oct. 18, 2010. Funeral services will be 3PM Sat. Oct. 23, 2010 at the Hillside Christian Church 900 NE Vivion Rd KCMO. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30PM until service time. Burial will be at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hillside Christian Church or North Care Hospice, 2900 Clay Edwards Dr. NO KCMO 64116.  She was born into a family of 6, all born in the same house in Salem, MO. She was educated in a one room school house (Jameson) through the 8th grade and then graduated from Salem High School in 1956. She then went to KC, MO and worked for TWA for 5 years. During this time she met and married Hubert Kent on Nov. 1 1958, the love of her life and faithful companion. She then stayed home and raised her family of 2 sons, Patrick Edward and Randall Scott. She was a member of Hillside Christian since 1959, a volunteer at Clay Co. Clothes Closet and Christian Women's Club and Care Cupboard at Hillside. She worked at North Kansas City Hospital for 10 years, leaving in 2002 when she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. She fought this disease for 9 years. The family wishes to thank Dr. Pluenneke and Kansas City Cancer Center's staff and Holly of the North Care Hospice staff for all their caring help in Anna's battle against Myeloma. She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Stella Scott and Brother James Scott. Survivors include her husband Hurbert Kent, sons Patrick and wife Tammi of KC and Randall and wife Tracy of Excelsior Springs, grand children Brooke Kent, Tyler Kent, Kirsten Kent Clarice Kent and Cheyenne Hargis. 4 sisters, June Coryell, Salem, MO., Jo Ann Jenkins, St. Louis, MO., Norma Smith, Buena Vista CO., Peggy Jenkins, St. Louis, MO., and many nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
