Becky A. Richards, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away quietly on June 15, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving behind a legacy woven from the rich fabric of love, simplicity, and kindness. She was born on December 18, 1941, to Jerry S. and Alice L. Feeney.
Becky lived a life dedicated to nurturing her family and cherishing each moment spent in their company.
Known for her gentle spirit, Becky was a constant source of warmth and joy for all who knew her. A true embodiment of love, she found her greatest happiness in baking delightful treats and hosting family gatherings. She was well known for her "Almost World Famous Ma Richard's Brownies."
She enjoyed visiting the Lake of the Ozarks, where laughter echoed and memories were beautifully crafted against the backdrop of serene waters. Her passion for bringing family together was unparalleled; it was in these moments that she thrived, pouring her heart and soul into creating an inviting atmosphere where everyone felt welcome and valued.
Becky's strong will and determination were evident as she bravely faced her own battles, triumphing over breast cancer not once, but twice. Her proudest accomplishments were not only these victories but the strength she instilled in those around her, demonstrating that resilience is a powerful gift we can all embrace. In her simplicity, she carried wisdom that resonated deeply, reminding us of the beauty in kindness and the importance of cherishing our loved ones.
As we gather to honor such a magnificent soul, let us remember the lessons she imparted and the love she freely gave, carrying her spirit forward in our hearts.
Becky was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Larry E. Richards; and her parents.
She is survived by her sons: Jeffrey S. (Joanna Wildscheutz) Richards of Belton, MO and Michael B. Richards of Smithville, MO.; grandchildren: Colette M. Richards, Laura K. Richards, and Abigail E. Richards all of Overland Park, KS; sister: Jerry E. Feeney of Ottumwa, IA, brother: Jack H. (Brenda) Feeney of Bradenton, FL.; brother: Phillip S. (Michelle) Feeney of Kansas City, MO.; brother: Daniel D. Feeney of Moroa, IL.; sister-in-law: Linda M. Hoppers of Bella Vista, AR.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
