Betty Campfield Anderton, 86 of Kansas City, Mo passed away June 15, 2013. A Celebration of Life Saturday will be 11:00 a.m., June 29, 2013 at Hillside Christian Church, 900 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO, 64118. Visitation will precede the Celebration at 10:00 a.m., Internment at Mount Moriah Terrace Park 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155 at 12:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hillside Christian Church Memorial Fund.Betty was born Friday, May 13, 1927 to Eugene and Ida Sherwood Campfield on the family farm near Centralia, Kansas.  She was 7th of 8 children.  Betty attended a one room school for the first 8 grades and graduated from Centralia High School in 1945.  She came to Kansas City to attend Central Business College. On September 21, 1947, she married George B. Anderton, Jr..  A charter member of Hillside Christian Church, and a Deaconess Emeritus, Betty was the last living charter member in Kansas City. Once the church was founded, she worked there as a part-time secretary for several years. She retired from Kansas City Power & Light November 1989. She was a member of the New Voice Club and the Northland Quilting Guild. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Ida Campfield, 4 brothers and 3 sisters, and her husband.   She is survived by her son John, daughter Judy Jennings, husband Tom, and two grandsons Toby Jennings, wife Amber, and Christopher Jennings.
