Betty Louise Harrison, 82, passed away on July 19, 2020. Betty was born on April 26, 1938 in Enosdale, Kansas to parents, Raymond and Frances (Writebol) Odgers. She married the love of her life, Cecil Harrison, on June 7, 1957. You could find Betty gardening and watching birds around her birdhouses. She was always giving her family Easter Lillies – even after numerous requests not to. Prior to Cecil’s passing in 2007, he worked with his family to surprise Betty and have their vows renewed. Betty had only had her nails painted a handful of times in her life but once raced a woman at Benton House to get in line to get her nails done! She enjoyed her time at Benton House doing crafts. She even had a hoard of crafting scissors in her room!
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Josephine Odgers; husband, Cecil; sister, Rosetta Robinson; and son-in-law, Jon S. Smith. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Debbie (Bill Tate) Smith and Eddie Harrison; grandchildren, Christopher Tuso, Christina (Bryan) Ford, Carlee (Pete) Martin, Kelsey (Brandon Black) Harrison; great grandchildren, Brooke Bannister, Alyssa Bannister, Alexis Bannister, Landon Tuso, Warren Tuso, Payton Ford, Violet Martin, and Maddox Martin; and numerous family and friends.
A visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Terrace Park Funeral Home from 6pm – 8pm. Betty’s funeral service will be on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 10am at Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th St, Kansas City, MO 64155 with burial following at Terrace Park Cemetery.
