Carl Haines

Carl Duane Haines, 71, passed away September 29, 2010 at his home in Plattsburg, Missouri. Carl was born January 20, 1939 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Frank and Margaret Moore Haines. He graduated from Maryville High School and Northwest Missouri State College. After receiving his B.S. degree in Pharmacy from UMKC in 1968 he worked with his father at Haines Drug in Maryville. Carl was a 2nd Class Petty Officer Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Barbara "Bobbie" Nigh on July 18, 1980. Carl was very active and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, football, riding motorcycles, golf, music and many other varied interests.Carl was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Swaney and 2 brothers-in-law, Jim Swaney and Paul Frazier. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; children, Sheila Smith (Ted), Lisa Conrad (Bryon), Dustin Haines (Jessica) and Brook Barclay (Alexis); 6 grandchildren, James, Hannah, Anthony, Samantha, Geena, Jude and expecting his 7th grandchild in November; 2 sisters, Beverly Frazier and Rosie Stephens (Ronnie), nieces, nephews and many dear friends.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5 at Platte City United Methodist Church; 14040 N Highway; Platte City, MO 64079. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
