Following a lengthy battle with Dementia, Carol Jean Reed of Gladstone, Mo. passed away on May 27 at the age of 68. She was born in Kansas City and lived in the area her entire lifetime.
Carol will be remembered as a loving, generous and selfless person. She loved her son, Paul, and being his mother. She also cared for her elderly parents during the last years of their lives.
She made time to be the family historian. Carol researched her family tree, and collected pictures, letters and keepsakes that brought to life interesting details of her family. She also enjoyed reading, music, gardening, and relaxing with family and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Thomas Campbell. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Raymond Reed; her son and grandson, Paul & Thomas Reed; her sister, Lynn Grove, and husband, Roger; her brother, Bruce Campbell, and wife, Cindy; and numerous other family members and friends.
Plans to remember Carol in Kansas City are still being finalized. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America or your favorite charity.
