Charlene M. Greene-McMillian, 66, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away on April 10, 2025.
Charlene was born on August 18, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Charles “Charlie” and Virginia Greene. She graduated from Plattsburg High School and continued her education, attending Maple Woods College. This led to a successful 40-year career at Commerce Bank, where she served as a Project Manager.
Charlene had a warm and vibrant spirit and was surrounded by a close-knit group of lifelong girlfriends who shared in some of her most treasured memories. She found her greatest joy in her marriage to the love of her life, Rick and their dog Jack. Together Rick and Charlene shared more then 20 years of love, laughter, and countless adventures.
She loved animals, especially her cats and dogs, every stray had a home. Charlene also had a passion for road trips-exploring destinations like Colorado, Orange Beach, Alabama, and Wyoming. Her favorite place, however, was always home on her farm, where she could often be found in her garden, basking in the sunshine and the peace of the outdoors.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents Charles “Charlie” and Virginia (Graves) Greene; and her sister, Juanita.
She will be fondly remembered by her loving husband Rick.
A celebration of Life to honor Charlene’s memory will be held on June 7, 2025, from 12:00-4:00 at the VFW Hall located at 5406 NE Oakridge Drive, Kansas City, Missouri 64119.
