Obituary

Clyde Ray Eddy, a devoted family man and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026. Born on May 26, 1946, Clyde dedicated his life to service, family, and community,

A graduate of Northeast High School, Clyde’s commitment to his country was exemplified by his six years of honorable service in the United States Air Force. He carried the pride of serving his nation with him throughout his life.

Following his military service, Clyde built a commendable career at Ford Motor Company, where he was known as a hardworking man who provided faithfully for his loved ones. His strong work ethic was matched only by his dedication to his family.

Clyde’s life was enriched by the love he shared with his beloved wife, Loretta. While serving in the military service, he met Loretta, the love of his life, and together they raised a family. Their bond was a cornerstone of their lives, and their cherished moments at their home in Crosstimbers after Clyde retired in 2008.

Clyde enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors, engaging in fishing and hunting, which reflected his connection to nature and tradition. He also treasured the camaraderie found among friends at the American Legion in Parkville, Missouri, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Galmey, Missouri, where he appreciated sharing stories and a good drink.

Above all, Clyde took immense pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather. His family was the heart of his life, and he was devoted to nurturing those relationships with kindness and integrity.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents; Vernon and Marjorie Eddy; his beloved wife, Loretta Eddy; daughter, Karri Eddy; son, Michael Eddy; and brother, Barry Eddy.

He is survived by his son; Dennis Eddy, sister, Beverly Beaver (Ron); 6 grandchildren; Joey, Mercedes, Michael Jr. Brittany, Andrew, and Ashley.

Clyde Ray Eddy’s life was one marked by loyalty, dedication, and love. He will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who knew him.

A Graveside service will be held at Terrace Park Cemetery on Friday, May 22, 2026, 801 NW 108th Street Kansas City, Missouri 64155 beginning at 11:00 AM. On Saturday May 23, 2026, a Celebration of Life will be held to honor Clyde’s life at the Galmey VFW Post 21547 Mo.-254 Wheatland, Missouri 65779 beginning at 4:00 pm all are welcome.
