Daniel Maurice Higgins, born on July 28, 1965 son of James and Maria Higgins. He departed from this world on July 25, 2025, after a brave and determined battle with Amyloidosis a journey he faced diligently for three and a half years. He passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, leaving behind a legacy that resonates through the lives he touched with his quiet strength and gentle spirit.
Daniel attended Ravenwood Elementary School, Winnetonka High School and graduated from Winnetonka High School in 1983. He went on to Maplewoods Community College and earned an Associates Degree in Aviation Mechanics.
Daniel’s commitment to his work was evident to all. He worked for Seeburg Mufflers of North Kansas City after high school then spent fifteen years traveling in his fifth wheel trailer plumbing senior living facilities across Florida and Colorado. He later dedicated his career to commercial projects with D’Augostino Mechanical of Kansas City where he showcased his skills in working with complex HVAC installations and operating heavy machinery like backhoes and skid steers. He not only excelled in his duties; Daniel was also an inspiring leader, running crews and organizing laborers with a firm yet compassionate hand.
Despite his introverted demeanor, Daniel found joy in simpler pleasures. He enjoyed playing video games and indulging in games on his phone, moments of peace that offered him an escape from the world, allowing him to recharge after long days of hard work.
Though he may have been a soft-spoken individual, Daniel's presence was profoundly felt by those fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind an enduring legacy of perseverance, kindness, and dedication; qualities that will forever be etched in the hearts of family and friends that loved him dearly.
