Deanna Allman, 78, passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of July 7th, 2025.
Deanna Karen Tarwater was born on June 29th, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Earl Edward Tarwater and Lois Glenna Prothero-Tarwater-Wise. She spent her early childhood in St. Joseph Missouri surrounded by her younger brother Dean Tarwater along with many aunts, uncles and cousins playing out on the farm. The family moved to Kansas City in the early 50’s and she would graduate from NKC high school in 1965.
Shortly after she met her future husband of almost 30 years, Clark LeRoy Allman, on a blind date set up by friends. The pair were married on “the hottest day of the year” on Saturday July 12th, 1969, at Glenwood Baptist Temple (now Life Bridge Baptist Church).
The pair were very active as young adults in the church taking many memorable float trips, singing in small groups and the church choir to name a few. She loved to sing as an alto and could sing the harmony part of any hymn or worship praise song. Later on, she would help with Sunday school classes for several years. She was terrified of speaking in front of people even if they were a bunch of 3rd & 4th graders.
From a young age Deanna enjoyed reading any book she could find along with working crossword puzzle books. She always could be found with two or three books in her purse at any time. She enjoyed playing cards with her family; Rook, Pitch, Hearts or Spades it didn’t matter she was always ready for a hand.
Two children were born to the couple, Christopher and Melissa. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were some of the highlights of her days.
Deanna was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, and her parents.
She is survived by her son Christopher (Amber) Allman and their three children Sadie, Lorelie and Audrey all of West Richland, WA; her daughter Melissa (Jason) Boyle of Kingston, MO; and their children Hayley (Michael) Putthoff of Hamilton, MO, Zachary Boyle of Richmond, MO and Jacob Boyle of Hamilton, MO; great grandchildren: Jackson and Madelyn. Brother Dean (Leona) Tarwater and their daughter Deana Tarwater all of Las Vegas, NV. As well as many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your choice of charities.
