Throughout his life, Delbert (Joe) was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to his career. He served as a dedicated Teamster's Union truck driver for an impressive forty years before his retirement. Delbert was respected and known as a hardworking man.

A man of the outdoors, Delbert found great joy in farm life. He enjoyed life on the farm and taking care of the cattle. Important memories were built around coaching his children's football leagues, a role he cherished during their younger days. Those who knew him well remember his love for fishing and his love of being surrounded by nature and open skies.

Family stood at the center of Delbert's life. In 1963, Delbert married Martha, embarking on a journey together filled with enduring love and partnership. Their years were marked by dedication to raising their children and creating a close-knit family. Many treasured moments were spent at their lake house in Oklahoma, where Delbert especially valued the time they shared as a family, building memories that would last through generations.

Among Delbert’s proudest accomplishments was the profound joy he found in his role as a grandfather. He was present and active in the lives of his grandchildren, delighting in their growth and achievements.

Delbert is preceded in death by his loving wife Martha Louise Ruffier; his parents, Joy and Melvina Cordell; stepdaughter, Kelly Edmunds; brothers, James Brown, Jesse Cordell, and R.D. Cordell.

He is survived by his sons; Joe Ruffier, Paul Ruffier; his sister, Carolyn Hodges; grandchildren; Megan (Nick) Ruffier- Cogar, P.J. Ruffier, Amy Ruffier, Bubba Ruffier, and Jacob Ruffier; great grandchildren, Liam Ruffier, and Novah Ruffier.

Delbert Ray Ruffier’s legacy is best measured in the love he gave, the work he accomplished, and the many lives he touched through his warmth, guidance, and steadfast presence. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
