Diane Marie O’Connell, 94, passed away on February 14, 2026. She was born on April 14, 1931, in Brookfield, Missouri, and was the third of four children born to Leland and Magdalena McNamara.

She graduated from Lillis Catholic School in Kansas City. Diane later devoted herself wholeheartedly to her role as a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family.

A woman of strong faith, Diane was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star and remained active in her community over the years. She was also a proud and enthusiastic fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, John O’Connell, and her daughter, Magdalena.

She is survived by five children; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchild; and many extended family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church in Parkville, Missouri, on Tuesday, February 16. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Terrace Park Cemetery.
