Donald Raymond Harrison, 83, of Liberty, MO passed away on January 24, 2022.
Don, or “Corky” as he was known by many, was born on January 20, 1939 to Charles Raymond and Ellen Marguerite Harrison. He grew up in Henrietta, MO, where he graduated high school and met his wife of 63 years, Shirley Harlin. Don and Shirley were married on August 16, 1958 and were blessed with three children. Shortly after Don began working for Ford Motor Co., he and Shirley moved to the Kansas City area in 1963. He worked in various positions at Ford, but primarily in the stock department until he retired in 1992, after 33 years of service. Don and Shirley enjoyed their retirement years - traveling and camping with friends, going to Southern gospel concerts and he even built a Lake house off of Pom de Terre Lake, where they lived for 16 years. Don was known for always being on the move. He played basketball, softball and free-for-all football, chartered his family around the lake on their boat, volunteered to mow lawns and serve as a deacon at church, and anything else that seem to keep him busy.
Don is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marjorie Jean Gardner. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife, Shirley; children, Deborah (Kenneth) Hall, Kelley (Robert) Miller, and R. Scott (Toni) Harrison; grandchildren, Joshua (Kristen) Hall, Matthew (Jennifer) Hall, Daniel Hall, Joseph (Selena) Hall, Rachel Hall, Bethany (Andrew) Nissley, Whitney Harrison, Noah Harrison, and Eli Harrison; great grandchildren, Abigail, Hannah, Lily, Christian, Hunter, Jonathan, and Isaac Hall and Chloe Nissley.
Services will be held at Tower View Baptist Church on Friday, January 28th, with visitation beginning at 12:00pm, followed by the funeral service at 1:00pm. Burial will be held at Terrace Park Cemetery.
