Dorothy Jean Carpenter,86, passed away on December 2, 2025.

She was born on March 27, 1939, in Spiro, OK, to William and Lula Garrett. Dorothy met the love of her life, Harold Carpenter, and the two were married on July 7, 1956. From this union, they were blessed with a son and a daughter. Dorothy was a highly accomplished salon owner, hairstylist, and instructor for more than 40 years. Family meant everything to her, and she treasured hosting holiday gatherings, surprising her loved ones with early-morning donuts, and sharing meals with her grandchildren at Cracker Barrel. She also loved to travel, with memorable trips to Chile, England, and Alaska, among others. Her spirited zest for independence and her undeniable sweet tooth, kept her family on their toes. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold, who passed away in 2015. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children, Cindy Burton and John Carpenter; her grandchildren, Sabrina Martinez (Wes), Aubrie Owen (Michael) and Skylah Ballard (Nick); her great-grandchildren, Melissa, Rhianna, Brooklyn, Jade, Gavin, Victor, Heidi, Norah, Dylan, Gunnar, Grace, Magnus and Maverick; great-great-grandchildren, Mason and Emmerson; as well as many extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home on Thursday, December 18th, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., and burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to support leukemia research.
