Earl Iverson

January 29, 1925 — October 23, 2010

Earl Warren Iverson, age 85, died on October 23, 2010.  He was born January 29, 1925, in Sheboygan WI, to Anton and Mabel Iverson. Following high school Earl served in the Army Air Corps until 1945, attaining the rank of Second Lieutenant.  On September 13, 1947, he married his wife Corinne.  He graduated from George Williams College in 1949.  Earl worked nearly 30 years as a director for the YMCA.  Thereafter, he was an entrepreneur starting several businesses, which remained in the family following Earl's retirement.  Earl was a member of Gashland Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and leader of various committees.   Earl touched many lives with his deep faith and will be remembered for his love of and work with children.  Survivors include his wife, two daughters Karen Sallee and Kristin Farnen, a son, Jim Iverson, a son-in-law and daughter-in-law, two grandsons and their wives, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Robert Iverson and Don Iverson, and a brother-in-law. Earl was preceded in death by his parents.Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2010, at Gashland Presbyterian Church, 8029 N. Oak Trfwy., Kansas City, MO.  Friends are welcome to visit the family on Thursday, October 28, 2010, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gashland Presbyterian Church.Memorial contributions may be made in Earl's honor to the Global Orphan Project, Gashland Presbyterian Church, or the Parkinson's Foundation of the HeartlandArrangements under the direction of Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, Kansas City, MO.
