Edward Allen Chambers, 70, of Smithville, Missouri, passed away on September 10, 2026. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, on June 26, 1956, to Paul and Crystal Chambers, he was the fourth of five children. An outgoing state-qualifying wrestler in high school, Ed also met the love of his life, Sharon Brownsberger. Together, they built a home grounded in love, adventure, generosity, and a shared passion for nature alongside their four children.

Ed dedicated 42 years to Tower Properties in downtown Kansas City (1976–2018), maintaining the Commerce Bank buildings as an operating engineer. Beyond developing a wide range of technical skills and knowledge, he deeply cherished the lifelong friendships forged throughout his decades of service.

Intelligent, magnetic, and gregarious, Ed was a natural talent who could fix anything—from vehicles to heavy machinery. He spent a lifetime generously using his expertise to help family, friends, and neighbors, often asking for nothing more than the cost of parts or a friendly trade.

An avid outdoorsman, Ed found deep peace in nature through hunting, fishing, camping, and boating—passions he eagerly passed down to his children and grandchildren. Possessing an enviable, legendary confidence in the woods, he was equal parts master outdoorsman and resourceful engineer, once even fashioning a makeshift camp spatula out of a pocketknife and a soda can. Ed’s problem solving and creativity have become cherished family lore.

While Ed embraced many roles— husband, father, friend, or adventurer, thrill-seeker, problem solver—his absolute favorite was Grandpa or "Eddie Grandpa" to his four grandchildren. His intelligence, generosity, sharp wit, and love for nature will live on through the generations he cherished.

Ed lived life with an intensity and passion unmatched by most, pouring his whole heart into everything he did. A true, loyal legend, he was as generous, kind, and resourceful as he was brave. May he find the peace he so deeply deserves—remembered always as a man who fought harder than most ever knew.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Crystal Chambers, and his brothers, Paul, Garald, and Gerald. He is survived by his sister, Crystal Bowers; his four children and their spouses: Shane (Jessica) Chambers, Jamison (Hollianna) Chambers, Anastasia (Alli) Rast, and Alaina (Shelby) Carroll; and his four cherished grandchildren: Eivin, Elias, Landon, and Julian. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever share his legend.

Services to be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery on Friday September 18th. Visitation begins at 10:00am, followed by a graveside service at 11:00am.
