Elnora
Miller
May 23, 1927 – April 7, 2026
Elnora Louise Miller, 98, passed away on April 7th, 2026 at North Kansas City Hospital. Born in Bogard, Missouri on May 23rd, 1927 as the first daughter of her Essie Scott Brock, her late Mother, and Myron Cogswell Brock, her late father, she and her family moved all over Missouri, but eventually settled in St. Joseph, where she attended Lafayette High School and graduated in 1947, Plate-Garde Business University, and took additional classes at Maple Woods Community College. While she worked many jobs in her life, she was the most proud and vocal of Southwestern Bell, where she worked for "21 years, 8 months, 8 days, and 8 hours", as she was so fond of saying.
After nearly a century of life, she is preceded by her only daughter, Donna Michelle Macher née Miller, her parents Essie and Myron Brock, and her siblings, Claude Brock, Willa Mae Bock, Mary Ellen Kibbey née Brock, Gerald Lee Brock, and her husbands, Bob Miller and Joe Morrow. They've waited a long time for her to come to them in the kingdom of heaven, and it was a life well lived and loved by Elnora.
More than just that, her life was full of so many beautiful things; generosity to those she loved and would come to love, faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, a passion for self-improvement and her family, and a sense of humor that kept everyone around her laughing and smiling.
While she is no longer with us on this Earth, her many gifts of crocheted blankets, scarves, and pillow cases remain, along with all of the memories of those still left. She never went a day without making an impact on the life of someone near her, whether that be her family, her fellow parishioners, her neighbors, or even just the staff at her favorite stories. Elnora was always the type of person to reach out a hand to others. The world is a darker place without her.
She is survived by her brother, Norris "Bud" Brock, her son-in-law, Johnnie Macher Jr., her grandchild, Kristofer Michael Macher, and numerous nieces and nephews. With her memory and love enshrined by them, and by the Lord, her immortality is ensured.
Her funeral will be held on April 22, 2026, with visitation starting at 1 PM and going until 2 PM, with services to follow. May all who loved her have their chance to grieve.
