Ethel Weide

March 6, 1925 — March 17, 2020

Ethel Ruth (Wilkerson) Weide was born in Junction City, Kansas on March 6, 1925, to William and Ethel Wilkerson. She passed away March 17, 2020. Ethel, her parents, and her 5 brothers moved to Kansas City, KS in 1941; while she was in high school.

Ethel worked for the Jones Store in the stationary department then went to work at the potato chip factory in Kansas City, Kansas where she met the love of her life, Elmer. She and Elmer were married on February 17, 1950. From this marriage 2 children were born. Ethel was a founding member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. She attended there regularly until she was no longer able to do so.

In 1983, Ethel moved to Kansas City, MO, Clay County, just north of Gladstone. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and baking. Ethel was an avid Kansas City Royals fan.

Ethel is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Dan, Roy, Sam, Lee, and Ted; and by her beloved husband Elmer. She is survived by her two children: daughter, Janet Seifert; son Terence Weide; granddaughter Jill Dickson and her husband, Joshua Dickson; and two great-granddaughters, Kylie and Emily Dickson.
