ETHELEEN (MEDLEN) DAVIDSON, 94, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away Saturday evening, September 20, 2025. Etheleen Virginia Medlen was born on March 25, 1931 on the Medlen family farm, two miles west of High Point, Missouri. She was named after two special aunts (her mother’s sister Ethel and her father’s sister Virgie). After graduating high school in California, MO she moved to the Kansas City, MO area to attend beautician school. There in Kansas City she met her future husband - Oscar Eugene “Gene” Davidson - while attending Perry Street Church of God.
Etheleen and Gene married November 6, 1950 and raised their family in the Gladstone area of Kansas City. Family, extended family, as well as her Christian faith was the cornerstone for Etheleen throughout her life. She and Gene were always thankful for their blessings and healthy lives throughout their 69 year marriage.
Etheleen was an avid homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing (from wedding dresses to doll clothes), doll collecting, crafting, and ceramics. Etheleen was also active in her church over the years - from starting a new Church of God in Gladstone - to fundraising within the Ladies Missionary Group. Etheleen and Gene have been recent members of Hope Chapel in Lee’s Summit.
Etheleen was preceded in death: by her parents – Harry Joseph and Zelma Docia (Kelsay) Medlen; by her brother – Roy Dean Medlen (August 2020); as well as by her husband – Oscar Eugene Davidson (December 2019). She is survived by her three children: Marlene (Bob) Story of Lee’s Summit; Merle (Nancy) Davidson of Dallas, TX; Neal Davidson of Oak Grove. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Amy (Justin) Conover of Independence; Justin (Kate) Story of Kansas City North; Daniel (Lindsay) Davidson of Dallas, TX; Mark Davidson of Salt Lake City, UT; Chelsey (Andrew) Pirotte of Mission Hills, KS; Brian (Dana) Davidson of Lee’s Summit. Etheleen also has twelve great-grandchildren.
