Frances Foerschler, 104, Kansas City North, passed away July 31, 2026 at Grand Royale Senior Living. Frances was born March 15, 1922 to George and Jennie Gillman.

She was a graduate of Wyandotte High School and the University of Kansas. She and her husband founded the Air Equipment Company, later known as Powerflow Systems Inc.

She is preceded in death by her husband Fred J. Foerschler, a granddaughter Diane Yount and her brother George J. Gillman. She is survived by her four children, Terry Clapper (John), Gary Foerschler (Jan), Debbie Jester (Rob), Jeff Foerschler (Melissa), 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11 at Terrace Park with a Memorial service following at 11:00.

Frances was a volunteer extraordinaire. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Kansas City for over 60 years and served in their nursery and on their budget committee. She was a leader in all branches of scouting. She was a PTA President of grade school as well as Junior High School. She was awarded a Life Membership in the Missouri Branch of National Congress of Parents and Teachers. Frances was the first woman elected to the school board in the North Kansas City School District in 1972, and also served on the Missouri State School Board.

Frances was a long time member of AAUW, and was awarded an honorary Life membership. She served on the Missouri State Vocational Advisory Board, League of Women Voters, and the Committee to Restore and Develop Watkins Mill State Park.

Frances was awarded the “Woman of Distinction” in 2000 by the Soroptimist International of Kansas City.

Frances held positions on the Board of Trustees of North Kansas City Hospital from 1992-1997 as well as the Board of Directors of Truman Medical Center. She also served on the board of Northland Health Care Access. She volunteered with the North Kansas Hospital Auxiliary, was on the board of Friends of NKC Public Library, NKC Hospital Home Health Care Advisory Board, Old Pike Country Club, and Kansas University Alumni Association

She was appointed as a public member evaluating Maple Woods Community College Veterinary Tech. Program 1985, 1991, 1997.

She was appointed to the Clay County Citizen Advisory Commission for Capitol Improvements, Investigation of Clay County Home for the Aged Committee, Clay County Special Tax Equalization Committee, and was a member of the steering committee of the 2nd phase of the FOCUS Kansas City in 1995 until it was adopted by the City Council.

She volunteered for the Folly Theater as well as Johnson County Community College Theater 1989-2010
