Glen "Louise" Marshall, age 97, of Kansas City, MO, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Louise was born on December 28, 1926, near Warsaw, Missouri. In 1946, after graduating from Warsaw High School, she moved to Kansas City, MO. She was employed by Barnett and Ramel Optical Company as a bookkeeper/accountant. For many years, she was also a Sales Associate at the Jones Store Company. She married the love of her life, Earl F. Marshall, on April 28, 1946. They were blessed with three daughters and celebrated 64 years of marriage.
Louise was an active member of Gashland United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Assistant Bible School Director, and Adult Coordinator. She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed sewing and made many dresses for her girls. She was active in her daughters' schools serving as room mother and helping with the Girl Scouts of America.
Louise enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home. In addition, she was delighted to prepare holiday dinners and Christmas candies, especially divinity. She baked and decorated cakes for friends and family. Louise was an avid trout fisherman at Roaring River State Park in Missouri. She truly enjoyed flower gardening, looking forward to every spring. She loved raising cockscomb.
She is survived by the family that she loved dearly; three daughters, Linda L. Marshall, Charleston, SC; Patricia S. McLeod (Alan), Memphis, TN; Lesa A. Marshall (John Grimes), Kansas City, MO; one brother, Sidney G. Brooks, Pleasant Prairie, WI; three grandsons, Scott M. McLeod (Katie), Memphis, TN; Mark A. McLeod, Brooklyn, NY; Daniel P. McLeod, Memphis, TN; two great-granddaughters, Ann Louise McLeod and Caroline G. McLeod; one great-grandson, Harris S. McLeod, Memphis, TN; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Marshall, her parents, Gedney and Elizabeth Brooks; two brothers, James F. Brooks and Irvin G. Brooks; and two sisters, Golda Brooks and Helen E. Bonnard.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the caregivers at St. Croix Hospice and McCrite Plaza at Briarcliff Senior Living Community.
Services will be at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on Tuesday, November 5. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will occur after the memorial service at Ridgely Cemetery, Platte County, MO.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Croix Hospice, Alzheimer's Association or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
