Hannah Lynn Mendez

Hannah Lynn Mendez was born on November 25, 2019, to Chris and Amber Mendez in Kansas City, MO and passed peacefully in their arms on May 28, 2024


Hannah was diagnosed at the age of two with leukemia. Through the help of a trial chemo, she was able to receive a bone marrow transplant on December 22, 2022 with dad as the donor. In the fall of 2023, she was able to enter preschool at Saint James and played soccer, something she had begged to do for over a yearIn December of 2023, her cancer returned. This did not stop Hannah from enjoying all the things she had come to love. Her passions include playing with her older brother Jackson and her many friendsgoing to the pool, soccer, and art activities such as painting and sand art. Other things she enjoyed include flamingos, BarbiesLOL dolls, unicorns, Minnie Mouseall things Disney Princesses and her endless supply of snacksShe endeared herself to many through her strength and personality, and often brightened your day after being around her. 


Throughout her life Hannah and her family made amazing memories, visiting Branson annually, Make-a-Wish trip to Disney World, playing at numerous waterparks and pools, baseball games, visiting family out of town, attending the first KC Current home game in the built for GIRLS stadium and most importantly spending time together, her favorite. 


Hannah was preceded in death by her Great-Grandparents Joe and Jenny Mendez of Kansas City, MOCliff and Norma Donnell of Westwood, KSMarvin Andersen of Elk Horn, IA, Tony Dvorak of Griswold, IA, Pat Dvorak of Atlantic, IA.Hannah is survived by her parents Chris and Amber Mendez and her brother Jackson of Kansas City, MO, Great-GrandmotherConnie Andersen of Elk Horn, IA, Grandparents Gary and Cathy Mendez of Kansas City, MO, Grandparents John and Chris Dvorak of Atlantic, IA, Aunt Erica and Matt Wilkins of Kansas City, MO, and Uncle Josh and Nicole Dvorak, and cousins Mattie, LexieKamrie, and Lane of Atlantic, IA
