Helen Irene Worley

Helen Irene Worley, 88, of Overland Park, KS, passed away in her home on January 28, 2023. She was born to the late Frazier and Nellie Cooperider on August 07, 1934. She graduated from Forest City high school. She was married to the love of her life, Cecil Worley on January 21, 1953 and together they had four children. She completed a degree in education and made a career in teaching in the Park Hill school district in Kansas City, MO. 

Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling with her husband, and their many journeys took them all over the globe including getting to see six of the seven wonders of the world. She also was an avid bowler, square dancer and photographer.  

She lived most of her life in the St. Joseph and Kansas City areas, though her later years were spent in Savannah, MO before the health of she and her husband led to their move to Overland Park, KS. After moving to Savannah, she became a member of the Savannah United Methodist Church and attended services for over ten years. 

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother: Frank (Colleen) Cooperider.

She is survived by her brother, Wallace (Janet) Cooperider; husband, Cecil; children: Dennis Worley, Mike (Barbara) Worley, Beverly Kay (Terry) Rueckert, and John (Terri) Worley; grandchildren: Jim, Debra, Jennifer, Kenan, Sion, and Clarissa; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Maddox, Marina, Kaiden, and Tristen; as well as many other nephews, nieces, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Savannah United Methodist Church.
