Insook Hwang, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2026 while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 12, 1937, in Gyeongsan, South Korea, to her loving parents, Hwajin Hwang and Gyechul Kim.

After marrying Pastor Kwangwoong Kim on November 11, 1961, she faithfully supported her husband’s pastoral ministry for over 50 years. Together, they served the Lord and their community throughout their many years of marriage and ministry. Before marriage, she actively promoted the Saemaul Undong (New Village Movement)—a national initiative aimed at regional development—through broadcasts. She also gathered children who could not attend school due to poverty and tutored them in the evenings alongside friends. After marriage, she continued this work with her husband, enlisting university students to help educate underprivileged children. For years, she visited a women's prison weekly to offer comfort, encouragement, and counseling to the inmates. Additionally, the couple dedicated themselves to serving God and their community for many years—both as a married couple and as partners in ministry—engaging in activities such as hospice care for terminal cancer patients.

Insook was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and faithful servant of God. She found great joy in caring for her family, offering encouragement through her strength, steadfast faith, and generous heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hwajin Hwang and Gyechul Kim; her son-in-law, Young Keum Huh; and her grandson, Seongjun Kim.

She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her beloved husband, Kwangwoong Kim; her children, Shin Hea Huh (Maiden Name: Shin Hea Kim) and Ji Sung Kim (Euna Jang); her grandchildren, Seonggyeong Kim, Seong Joo Kim, Sung Eun Huh, Sung Jin Huh, Sungin Huh, along with many extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of her life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 801 NW 108th St, Kansas City, MO 64155, on Friday July 3rd, with service at 11:00am, followed by the burial. 하나님의 사랑하시는 딸 황인숙 사모님 께서 2026년6월25일 (목) 향년 89세로 하나님의 부르심을 받으셨습니다.

고인은 1937년 12월 12일 경성북도 경산시 자인면 동부리에서 부친 황화진, 모친 김계출 님 사이에서 7남매중 둘째 딸로 출생하셨습니다.

1961년11월11일 김광웅 목사님과 결혼후 50여년 남편의 목회 사역에 내조 역할을 감당 하셨습니다. 결혼 전에는 고향지역 발전을 위해서 국가 시책의 하나인 새마을 운동에 적극 동참해 줄것을 방송을 통해 홍보 역활을 하셨습니다. 또한 친구들과 함께 집이 가난하여 학교에 가지 못하는 아이들을 모아 밤시간을 이용하여 공부를 시키는 일을 하셨습니다. 결혼 후에도 남편과 함께 대학생들을 통하여 가난한 아이들을 공부 시키는 일을 계속 하셨습니다. 교도소는 수년동안 매주 일차 방문하여 여죄수들을 위로 격려 상담을 하셨습니다. 병원 말기암 환자들을 위해서는 수년간 호스피스 일을 하시고 가정 주부들에게는 가정 상담자가 되어 주는등 두 분은 오랜 세월 동안 부부로서, 그리고 사역의 동역자로서 하나님과 지역사회를 위해 섬기며 봉사하는 일을 하셨습니다.

고인은 헌신적인 아내이자 사랑이 깊은 어머니, 자랑스러운 할머니였으며, 하나님께 충성된 종으로 살아오셨습니다. 가족을 돌보는 일에 큰 기쁨을 느끼셨고, 강인함과 변함없는 믿음, 그리고 넉넉한 사랑으로 가족들에게 늘 힘과 위로를 주셨습니다.

부모님이신 황화진 님과 김계출 님, 사위 허영금 목사, 그리고 손자 김성준 군을 먼저 하나님 품으로 떠나보내셨습니다.

고인의 뒤에는 사랑하는 남편 김광웅 목사님, 딸 김신혜 (허신혜) 사모와 아들 김지성 목사 (배우자 장은아 사모), 손주 김성경, 김성주, 허성은, 허성진, 허성인 을 슬하에 두셨습니다.

고인의 생애를 기념하는 발인예배는 2026년 7월 3일(금) 오전 11시에 Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery (801 NW 108th St, Kansas City, MO 64155)에서 드립니다.
