Jason R. Wilson, Sr. passed away peacefully at home on December 29th, 2025. He was a devoted husband, a proud and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His quiet strength, steady presence, and unconditional love were the foundation of his family.
Jason had a way of making those around him feel safe and cared for. He was known for his handsome appearance, protective nature, and natural charisma, but those closest to him knew his greatest joy came from simply being with his family. Some of his favorite moments were spent on dates with his beloved wife at the casino, laughing, talking, and enjoying each other’s company. He took pride in teaching his children how to play sports, often coaching them and passing on not just skills, but patience, confidence, and perseverance. Jason had a deep passion for hunting and fishing that he passed onto his children when he would take them on camping, fishing and hunting trips.
Jason found happiness in life’s simplest moments—starting his day with a cup of coffee, sitting outside in his chair watching the world go by, and enjoying the quiet stillness of the day. Above all else, he treasured the bond he shared with his wife of 62 years. Their marriage was built on loyalty, respect, laughter, and a love that never wavered.
Jason R. Wilson, Sr. is survived by his wife, Karen Wilson; his children, Pamela Wilson, Rodney Wilson, Cara Wilson, and Michelle Wilson; his daughter-in-law, Kathleen Wilson; his seven grandchildren, Bradley Riner, Avau Malolo, Ashley French, Catie McGeeney, Carson Wilson, Blakey Wilson, and Maverick Wilson; and his eight great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lucille Wilson, and his brothers, Jim, Jerry and Joe Wilson.
Services will be held on January 14th, with a memorial gathering from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., and a memorial service beginning at 11:00 am., at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64155. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
Jason will be remembered for the love he gave so freely, the calm strength he carried, and the way he showed up for his family every single day. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished so deeply.
